The development of this island site incorporates showrooms, offices, retail outlets, parking and service areas. The Boulevard road level is dedicated to motor showrooms, which are enclosed in a steel and glass structure. Within the centre of the development at the upper ground level is an open parking piazza, providing double fronted showroom facades. This level also incorporates access to motor related workshops and parking. All levels are connected by a circular vehicle tamp and internal stairs. The lower street level is dominated by a state of the arts Service Station, situated on the entrance circle to the Gateway Centre. The forecourt is covered by an aerofoil shaped canopy. Shop fronts to the forecourt shopping facility, are contained by contrasted by the basement building, which is tucked into the site and accommodates the difference in levels between the surrounding street frontages. This auto related centre development draws on technology of the automobile and accommodates the vibrancy of the movement systems related to this unique island site.
