Proposals call for an international standard venue for various sporting codes as an integrated development for continuous activity as an urban development. The Four related stadia provide a 20 000 spectator multi-purpose outdoor stadium, a 25 000 spectator outdoor cricket oval, a 5 000 spectator outdoor field hockey stadium and a 7 000 spectator indoor sports hall. The multi-purpose development integrates the outdoor and indoor stadia with the retail and office accommodation. These facilities provide a unique sporting experience for international sporting events quality for player and spectators alike.

The stadia complex are integrated with adjacent the retail, parking areas and the Sport City entrance concept. Links are suggested to the Sports City administration tower and Sports Hotel. The holistic idea of a “sports precinct” or “hub” within a sports themed suburb of Dubai was to attract sports tourism and media to the region with “Sports City” being the central focus point.
